ICT Priorities for the Western Balkan Countries
The SCORE project has started an open consultation to define the ICT research priorities in the Western Balkan countries for the period 2007-2013
The EU funded project SCORE “Strengthening the Strategic Cooperation between the EU and Western Balkan Region in the field of ICT Research” is running an Open Consultation in order to identify the ICT research priorities for the period 2007 – 2013 in the Western Balkan Countries.
ICT stakeholders willing to have an active role in defining the most suitable ICT research priorities for Albania, Bosnia & Herzegovina, FYR of Macedonia, and Serbia are invited to participate, by visiting http://consultations.score-project.eu and answering to 3 simple questions.
The main goal of the SCORE project is to contribute to the shaping of EU ICT research policy in the Western Balkan region, in a way that meets the interests and actual needs of regional ICT stakeholders, by developing 4 country-specific ICT Strategic Research Agendas for the participating Western Balkan countries, as well as a Policy Paper with “Recommendations for shaping EU scientific co-operation with the Western Balkan Region in the field of ICT research: 2007-2013” for the EU Commission.
Concretely, the ICT Strategic Research Agendas defining ICT research priorities in each of these WB countries will be developed following an open consultation process.
A first phase of this consultation process has recently involved key ICT local experts who have indicated precise ICT research priorities for their own country, together with the related objectives and research areas. Four Initial ICT Strategic Research Agendas have accordingly been developed.
The ongoing Open Consultation is aimed at gathering feedback from a broader ICT stakeholder audience, so as to finalise these documents and render them a concrete basis for the development of the Policy Paper.
By answering to the 3 simple questions the participants can personally contribute to the enrichment of the ICT research priorities already defined for the Western Balkan countries, and also identify further research priorities that they consider important to be mentioned.
The Open Consultation is accessible on-line from 5th November 2007 till 10th December 2007, by visiting http://consultations.score-project.eu.
It is finally worth to be underlined that the SCORE project has also implemented an information portal providing also networking opportunities to its members.
By registering at www.score-project.eu it is possible to access information, such as:
